Tyson Fury believes David Adeleye will take over the championship for years to come. The 26-year-old is 9-0 as a professional with 8 wins coming by way of knockout and promoter Frank Warren is giving him a good push.

After a difficult night’s work against the dangerous Kamil Sokolowski, Adeleye started a good career in the senior positions. And Fury – who is signed to the same promotional material – took notice.

The Mancunian has been using Adeleye as a sparring partner since Deontay Wilder’s second fight in 2020. In that time, they have shared hundreds of rounds together and Fury is confident he has what it takes to stay a force to be reckoned with.

“Listen, Dave Adeleye is the future of this division, and I told him the other night in the rooms – I said, ‘You have to believe in yourself Dave because you’re going to get a partner’,” Fury told BT Sport.

Speaking about his stay at the Fury camp, Adeleye said: “It’s just work, being the best I can be. I’ve been there for a long time, Tyson, I was insured on his car three years ago.

“Even though I didn’t leave I still had his car insurance, so I texted him ‘Tyson, can I have the car?’ but you get used to it, I’m always learning, like I said I’m a sponge, so, I go there and sit and observe everyone. Any question I have, I just ask, and I get answers.
